Fire Department Explorers (associated with the Boy Scouts of America) is a program designed for males and females ages 14-20, who have an interest in firefighting. Explorers train with firefighters to learn about various scenarios including fire suppression, first response (medical training) and rescue operations.
The program tries to help build the maturity and self-confidence of the members involved.
What to Expect for Training
Members in the program can expect to participate in 2 trainings per month for approximately 2 hours.
Trainings will occur on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon at Fire Station 1, located at 1460 Egret Boulevard
The program runs for one year, starting in the fall and ending in the spring.

If you are interested in joining the Fire Department Explorer program, fill out the online form. Applicants must pass a background check to be considered.
