2020 Projects

Planning for 2020 street reconstruction projects is underway! At the September 3, 2019 City Council meeting, staff recommended two projects: 20-1 consists of approximately 2.6 miles of residential streets, and 20-2 includes approximately 2.1 miles of Municipal State Aid (MSA) streets and 0.2 miles of local streets.

If you have questions about current or proposed construction in the City or would like additional information, contact Engineering at 763-767-6479 or engineering@coonrapidsmn.gov.

2020 Street Reconstruction Open House Information

An informational open house will be held from 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the Coon Rapids City Center. Engineering staff will share a brief presentation at 6 p.m. Affected property owners and residents will receive a postcard invitation in the mail.

After plans are developed, a second open house will be held in early 2020. Pending final approval and award of contracts by City Council, neighborhood meetings will be scheduled in the spring as an opportunity for community members to ask questions and meet project representatives.

Reconstruction Costs

The majority of project costs will be paid for by the City, with a portion proposed to be assessed to benefiting properties. Public and assessment hearings will be conducted in February; affected property owners will be notified by our Assessing Department via United States Postal Service mail.
