2020 Projects

2020 street reconstruction projects are underway! At its May 5, 2020 meeting, City Council awarded contracts for two projects: 20-1 consists of approximately 2.6 miles of residential streets, and 20-2 includes approximately 2.1 miles of Municipal State Aid (MSA) streets and 0.2 miles of local streets. A third project, 20-3, will be performed jointly with the City of Blaine.

2020 Street Reconstruction Open House Information

The first of two informational open houses was held on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the Coon Rapids City Center, and the second was held Tuesday, January 28, 2020 in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Engineering staff answered questions, and provided an overview presentation of the proposed projects. Click here to view the presentation materials. 

Public and assessment hearings were held for projects 20-1 and 20-2 on February 18, 2020, and City Council ordered the projects. The hearings for project 20-3 were held April 7, 2020. 

Reconstruction Costs

The majority of project costs will be paid for by the City, with a portion proposed to be assessed to benefiting properties. Public and assessment hearings will be conducted in February; affected property owners will be notified by our Assessing Department via United States Postal Service mail.
