The kitchen and dining area had a large wall dividing it from the living room. A wall of cabinets also hung down from the kitchen ceiling, dividing the rooms. The kitchen had very little counter and storage space.
The large wall dividing the kitchen and living room was removed. Cabinets were re-arranged to open the space and create more storage. The new design has more counter space, including a tiered section with a lower level for food preparation and an upper level which serves as a breakfast bar. The homeowners purchased all new stainless steel appliances, added a tile back splash, granite counter tops and wood floors. This project did not add square footage but the kitchen is larger thanks to a new layout and re-arranging the space.
